Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament
General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University witnessed its 1st ever Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament on 18th and 19th of May 2022 with 92 talented players, representing 7 faculties performing their maximum for the championship. Teams from Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Management Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Science, and Faculty of Technology participated in the tournament.
The tournament began at 0830 hrs on 18th May 2022 and witnessed competitive matches where all the players displayed their maximum potentials to win. The closing ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil as the chief guest. The Faculty of Management, Social Science and Humanities was the champions of the Inter Faculty Volleyball Tournament 2022, and Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies became the runners-up of the tournament.
The following trophies and titles were awarded for the outstanding performance achieved by the players during the tournament.
- Best Player – J/O/C TC Wijesinghe of Faculty of Management Social Sciences and Humanities
- Best Setter – O/C HADK Keshara of Faculty of Management Social Sciences and Humanities
- Best Attacker – O/C HPSD Herath of Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies
