Inter-Faculty Badminton Championship 2022 General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University
On the 22nd and 23rd of September 2022, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) conducted its first Inter-Faculty Badminton tournament with the participation of players representing 09 faculties. Both men’s and women’s matches were held under 02 categories for the titles of Best Player and Best Team. Officially tournament was opened by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the KDU at the Indoor stadium.
Best faculty was selected by evaluating Men’s singles, Women’s singles, Men’s doubles, Women’s doubles, and a Mixed double match. The best team title was won by the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) by defeating the Faculty of Medicine (FOM) in the finals.
Best player titles achieved by Dayscholor TO Thibbotuge of intake 38 from Faculty of Computing (FOC) in Men’s category and Lady Officer Cadet VA Edirisinghe of intake 38 from FOM was the best player in Women’s category.
The closing ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor of KDU Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil (Ind). Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Admin), Deans of the faculties HOD’s and other representatives, Officer Cadets and Dayscholors witnessed the tournament.
