The Inter-Faculty Basketball Tournament 2022

On 08th and 09th of September 2022, the Inter-faculty Basketball tournament was held at KDU indoor Basketball court for the first time in its history. 192 men and women players, representing 08 faculties participated in the event. The tournament reached its finals after 12 matches which were held separately for Men’s and Women’s teams.

The Academic and Non-Academic staff, Cadet Officers, and Day Scholars witnessed the event. Rector of KDU Southern Campus, Maj General LCR Jayasuriya RSP ndc psc was the Chief guest and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Admin), Deans of all the faculties were also present. After a tight competition, FOE won the Men’s championship and FOL won the Women’s championship defeating FOC and FOE respectively. The undermentioned players were awarded for their outstanding performances.

  1. Best Offensive Player – DS Ryan Rulach (FOE)
  2. Best Defensive Player– O/C WGAM Rajapaksha (FOC)
  3. Most Valuable Player – DS Raminda Mihisara (FOE)

Achievements of Women’s Team

  1. Best Offensive Player – DS Venessa Candappa (FOL)
  2. Best Defensive Player – DS    Mihiri Alwis (FOE)
  3. Most Valuable Player – DS Dewmini Liyanamohotti (FOL)
