Captain Amali Weerakkody is from the Regiment of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps. She received her primary and secondary education from Sri Jayawardhenepura Balika Vidyalaya (CMS). She joined the Sri Lanka Army on 3 March 20018 under Professional Intake Batch 4 to the Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Army Volenteer Force (CVF). After completion of the basic military training at VFTS, she was commissioned to the rank of Captain on 10 April 2018 and posted to the Regiment of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and subsequently posted to Directorate of Training – Army Headquarters.
