    Major Tharaka Ambakumbura is an infantry officer serving in the Sri Lanka Army’s Gajaba Regiment. He received his basic education from Vijaya College Matale. Enlisted to KDU on 20 September 2009 as an Officer Cadet of Intake 27 and Member of the Alumna association of KDU. Performing duties as OIC Music club KDU and Sports OIC for Basket Ball at KDU. During 16 years of service he had been entrusted with few key appointments such as:
