Mr K.K. Pradeep Ranaweera is a Lecturer at the Department of Strategic Studies. He has completed Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colombo (2009) and a Master of Arts in Pondicherry (Central) University in India (2010-2021). He has received the South Asia Foundation Full Scholarship for the Master’s Degree programme in the Academic Year of 2010-2012. Before joining KDU, He was the Research Officer at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies. He has served as a Senior Lecturer (On Contract) at the Department of Social Studies in the Open University of Sri Lanka from 2019-2021. Previously, He was the Assistant Director to the Sustainable Development Division and Research and International Media Division at the Presidential Secretariat from 2015-2019. He was the Private Sector Coordinator for the National Poverty Alleviation Programme under the Sixth Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. He has experience working in NGOs in Sri Lanka related to policy development and political decision-making. In addition, He has worked as an Assistant Lecturer attached to the Department of International Relations at the University of Colombo from 2009-2010 and 2012-2014. His research interests are global environmental governance and sustainable development discourse, Indian Ocean, South Asia and Regional Cooperation, International Political Economy, Transitional Justice and Post-War Peace Governance, Youth, Gender and political participation.
