    Dr. Sanath De Silva completed his primary and secondary education at St Sebastian's College from 1980 to 1993. He was one of the four members of the first batch of Arts stream students from 1990 to 1993. He also served as a member of the teaching staff at the college from 1993-1997. His research interest spans Nuclear Disarmament and Nuclear Security of South Asia.  Dr. De Silva Recently obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of the International Relations University of Colombo for the research study titled “Nuclear Complexities in South Asia: Sri Lanka's Security Concerns under the Nuclear Shadow”. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kelaniya and Master of International Relations from the University of Colombo. He is also an alumnus of the United States University of Defence and Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) Dr. DeSilva was a former working group member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction and Border Security group of Regional Network for Strategic Studies Centers (RNSSC), Washington DC. He completed his Advanced Security Corporation Course at the College of Security Studies at Daniel K Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) Honolulu, Hawaii in 2016. He was a scholarship recipient of the Generation Seventeen Asia Pacific Leadership Program at the East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii in 2017. Dr. De Silva is a visiting resource person at the Command and Staff College, Sapugaskanda, Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay, and Officer Career Development Center, Buttala. One of his publications, co-authored with Prof (Emeritus)WI Siriweera,  titled “Warfare in Sri Lanka: Military history of the Island from earliest Times Up to Independence” was nominated for the State Literary Awards in the category of Academic and Research in 2017.
