Faculty of Defence & Strategic Studies collaborates with the Near East South Asia Centre for Strategic Studies, USA

The Faculty of Defence & Strategic Studies (FDSS) recently concluded a dialogue to establish connections and enhance collaboration with the Near East South Asia Centre for Strategic Studies (NESA). The NESA Center is the U.S. Department of Defense’s regional center focused on enhancing security cooperation between the U.S. and the Near East and South Asia region. Both parties agreed to enhance collaboration on research and bilateral dialogues. Academics from the NESA center volunteered to lecture courses on Strategic Studies. The discussion successfully drew to a closure with the understanding to organise two webinars for the next quarter.

NESA was represented by Dr. Roger Kangas – Academic Dean and Professor of Central Asian Studies at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies and Dr. Hassan Abbas – Distinguished Professor of International Relations at the NESA Center, National Defense University (NDU), Washington DC.

Vice Chancellor of the KDU – Maj Gen Milinda Peiris, Dean, Faculty of Defence & Strategic Studies – Col Enoj Herath, Director, IRO – Dr. Prasanna Premadasa and Head, Department of Strategic Studies – Dr. Harinda Vidanage represented KDU.
