A career guidance workshop for the undergraduates of Intake 40 was conducted at the FGS Auditorium on the 03rd of June 2025. Conducted in collaboration with the Chairman’s office of Bank of Ceylon, the event was graced with the presence of the Chairman of BOC, Mr. Kavinda de Zoysa and members from his team.

Two significant lectures were conducted where the first gave the undergraduates a clear clarification of what is expected of interns and regular employees. In the second lecture headed by the Chairman, insights on various areas that the current youth focus on, with valuable lessons for the future corporate and public sector leaders were shared. He helped equip the undergraduates with skills and the mindset that they should possess when entering the workforce of the country and highlighted the importance of consistency and gradual growth facilitated by knowledge, irrespective of the career path one chooses. The Q and A session that followed was instrumental in helping the students and members of the faculty clear doubts and pressing thoughts related to the field.

The lecture concluded in high spirits as numerous students were inspired to apply to the BOC as interns and have accordingly commenced their internships in the entity. Graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Director of the Career Guidance Unit of KDU, Dean – Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies and members of the Department of Strategic Studies, this event acts as a testament to the university’s efforts to provide the best opportunities and guidance to its undergraduates.
