The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) & Centre for Security Governance (CSA) of KDU successfully concluded a dynamic two-day training workshop at Courtyard by Marriott, Colombo on the 26th and 30th of June 2025 on Strategic Simulation development process. The event on Strategic Simulation equipped participants with tools for effective scenario-based planning. Day one focused on defining the scope, and scenario completion with group exercises on several relevant examples. Ms. Kelly Mader-Schonour from ISG continued as the resource person for the event, she emphasized the importance of clear objectives and structured simulations to the participants. Day two catered on assumptions and artifacts, exploring how underlying beliefs shape outcomes and how support tools enhance realism. Through expert guidance of the members from the ISG and collaborative activities, attendees gained practical insights to design strategic simulations relevant to real-world challenges in crisis management and policy planning. The event saw active participation from CSA Team led by Dr Harinda Vidanage, Dr Sanath De Silva, the Dean of the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies along with other team members of KDU CSA, and representatives from the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) from the Ministry of Defence.
