INTRODUCTION
The seminar on “Responding to Disinformation and Building Disinformation
Resilience” served as a pivotal forum for in-depth discussions on the latest ad-
vancements and emerging trends in combating disinformation. Thoughtfully
organized, the event comprised three distinct sessions, each addressing critical
aspects of disinformation resilience.
The first session, ‘Strategic & International Relations,’ delved into the global
landscape of disinformation, exploring how state and non-state actors employ
disinformation tactics to influence international relations. Experts discussed
strategies for countering these tactics and fostering international cooperation to
build a unified front against disinformation.
The second session, ‘Political, Economic & Legal,’ examined the multifaceted im-
pacts of disinformation on political systems, economic stability, and legal frame-
works. Speakers highlighted the importance of robust policies and regulations
to mitigate the effects of disinformation on democratic processes and economic
markets. Legal experts provided insights into current and proposed legislation
aimed at curbing the spread of false information.
The third session, ‘Social Engineering & Operational Challenges,’ focused on the
human and operational dimensions of disinformation. This session addressed
the psychological and sociological techniques used in social engineering to ma-
nipulate public perception and behaviour. Additionally, operational challenges
in identifying and responding to disinformation campaigns were discussed, em-
phasizing the need for advanced technological solutions and proactive measures.
