About the participants
This report encapsulates the pivotal insights, dynamic discussions, and key take-
aways from a seminar featuring esteemed speakers in their respective fields. The
event was segmented into three sessions, each spearheaded by experts who pro-
vided a comprehensive exploration of critical facets in the realm of disinforma-
tion and its strategic, legal, and operational dimensions.
Ms. Norashikin Sahol Hamid from the National Defence University Malaysia led
the session on Strategic and International Relations, offering in-depth discussions
on global disinformation tactics and counter-strategies. In the Political, Econom-
ic, and Legal session, Mr. Nerin Pulle, Additional Solicitor General (AG’s Depart-
ment), and Mr. Dileep Mudadeniya, Senior Vice President of Global Alliances and
Partnerships at John Keels, shared their expertise on the multifaceted impacts of
disinformation on political systems, economic stability, and legal frameworks.
The session on Social Engineering and Operational Challenges featured Dr. An-
ver Hamdani, Coordinator in Charge of Healthcare Donor Activities and Diplo-
matic Affairs at the Ministry of Health, and Mr. Isura Silva, a Business Consultant
specializing in Digital Transformation. They discussed the psychological, socio-
logical, and operational challenges in identifying and responding to disinforma-
tion campaigns.
Each speaker brought a wealth of knowledge to their respective sessions, contrib-
uting to a thorough exploration of the seminar’s themes. The following sections
will delve into the nuanced discussions and valuable insights shared by these
distinguished speakers.
