BLOOD FOR DUTY, LIFE FOR HONOUR

The Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, under the guidance of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence & Administration) Major General Chinthaka Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC, and leadership of Dean FDSS Colonel AHR Hasantha RSP psc, organized a blood donation campaign on 13^th September 2024 at the UHKDU premises. The event, themed “Blood for Duty, Life for Honour”, aimed to support the life-saving efforts of the medical community.

The campaign saw the enthusiastic participation of an Officer, 5 non-commissioned Officers, and 50 Officer Cadets from Intakes 39, 40, and 41. The campaign was supported by the Blood Bank of University Hospital – KDU (UHKDU), Dr Trilicia Withanawasam with her staff ensuring the smooth running of the Blood Donation. The event exemplified the core values of service and responsibility upheld by the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies and tri forces at large reaffirming the university’s dedication to both national duty and humanitarian causes.
