Lieutenant Colonel Daminda Kalansooriya is an Infantry Officer belongs to Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment of Sri Lanka Army. After the studies at De Mazenod College Kandana, he joined Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet to Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) on 22nd January 1997. After completion of the basic military training at BMA and Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), he was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 20th June 1998 and posted to Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
