Lieutenant HM Rishan Rangana Bandara

Lieutenant Rishan Bandara, an Executive Officer in the Sri Lanka Navy, began his journey at St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala. He joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet on 16^th September 2015, at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) in intake 33. At KDU, he completed his Basic Military Training and earned a Bachelor of Science in Management & Technical Science. He completed advanced military training at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee, and was commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant on 16^th September 2017. He further honed his expertise by completing the Sub Lieutenant Technical Course in 2022.

He has held the following important appointments in his commitment to serve in the Sri Lanka Navy.

• Troop Commander at KDU.
• Second in Command to P491 Craft.
• Officer in Charge at Naval Detachment Okanda.
• Assistant Regulating Officer at SLNS mahanaga.
• Administration Officer at SLNS Shakthi & SLNS Jayasagara.

• Bachelor of Science in Management & Technical Sciences Degree – Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka.

• Sub Lieutenant Technical Course at Naval & Maritime Academy, Trincomalee in 2021-2022.
• Irregular Warfare Course at 4^th Fast Attack Flotilla 2022.

In recognition of his valuable and unblemished service rendered to the Country, he has awarded with following medals.
