Major Naween Wickramasinghe is from the Sri Lanka Army Gajaba Regiment. He acquired his initial studies from St Sylvester’s College, Kandy. On 07 July 2009, he Joined Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet to Sri Lanka Military Academy under Intake 72. After completion of the basic military training at Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), he was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 27 December 2011 and posted to the Gajaba Regiment, a prestigious regiment of Sri Lanka Army and subsequently posted to 12 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment.
