Officers’ Training Day at KDU for 01st Quarter of 2023
The Officers’ Training Day of the 01st quarter of 2023, organized by the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, aiming to refresh and enhance the expertise of the military officers working in KDU, was successfully held on 14th January 2023 at the main auditorium of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The training day was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence and Admin) Brigadier DCA Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC and the supervision of the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Colonel RKARP Ratnayake RSP USP.
Three pertinent and essential presentations from the guest lecturers were conducted during morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session commenced with a presentation on ‘Social Etiquettes’ by Capt Sumedha Mirihana (Retd), Founder and Director of Molon Labe Training and & Consultancy. The lecture on ‘Indo-Lanka Fishery Dispute and its Security Implications’ was conducted by LCdr (C) YMSY Weerathunga RSP, the Squadron Commander of Intake 39. Thereafter Dr Sanath Chandana De Silva, a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Strategic Studies, delivered a lecture on the introduction to ‘Embarking on Research in a simple way’, concluding the training day.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Defence and Admin), the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, senior military Officers and all other Officers from the Kotelawala Defence University, participated for the Officers’ Training Day.
