With remarkable display of strength and determination, IDNSB Gunawardhana, a Day Scholar from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Classic Powerlifting Championship 2023 in Malaysia. The competition, held from December 10 to 18, showcased her exceptional skills in the junior women -84kg weight category.
IDNSB Gunawardhana’s prowess earned her an impressive overall 3rd place in the competition. Her achievements in individual categories were equally commendable:
Squat: 100kg – 3rd place
Bench Press: 57.5kg – 3rd place
Deadlift: 142kg – 2nd place
