    Captain Sachini Gunathilake is from the Corps of Engineer Services in Sri Lanka Army. She received her primary education from Wadduwa Central College – Wadduwa and secondary education from Devi Balika Vidyalaya – Colombo 08. She joined the Sri Lanka Army on 23 September 2016 under KDU Intake 34 to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. After the completion of the advanced military training at SLMA, she was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 19 December 2021 and posted to the Corps of Engineer Services and subsequently posted to 3rd Engineer Services Regiment.

    During her tenure at the regiment, she was performing her duties as a surveyor and currently she was posted to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University as a Troop Commander.
