    Major Pramodya De Silva is from the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. He received his primary and secondary education from Nalanda College, Colombo. He joined the Sri Lanka Army on 11 July 2012 under Intake 79 to the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa (SLMA). He was selected to undergo basic military training from Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun and joined Intake 137 Regular on 15 July 2014. After completion of the basic military training at both IMA and SLMA, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 18 July 2016 and posted to the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and subsequently posted to 5th Reconnaissance Regiment of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

    During his tour of duty, he has held the following appointments:

    Command Appointments

    • Troop Commander   – 5th Reconnaissance Regiment
    • Squadron 2nd in Command – 5th Reconnaissance Regiment

    Staff Appointments

    • Adjutant –   5th Reconnaissance Regiment
    • Aide-de-Camp(ADC) to the Vice Chancellor KDU – Kotelawala Defence University

    Instructor Appointments

    • Troop Commander – Kotelawala Defence University.

    In recognition of his valuable and unblemished service rendered to the Army/ Country, he has been awarded with the following medals:
