    Major Suneth Perera is from the Gajaba Regiment. He received his education from Nalanda College Colombo. He joined the Sri Lanka Army on 8 January 2011 under Intake 76 to the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa (SLMA). After completion of the basic military training at SLMA, he was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 29 June 2013 and posted to the Sri Lanka Army Gajaba Regiment and subsequently posted to 6th Battalion of the Gjaba Regiment.

    During his tour of duty, he has held the following appointments:

    • Platoon Commander   – 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment
    • Officer Commanding – 6th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment
